National Events
The National Golf Club Challenge 2010 is being held in support of Help for Heroes.
The aim of the challenge is to bring every golf club in the country together on the weekend of 24th and 25th July 2010 and raise over one million pounds for our injured heroes through the nation’s love of golf.

Vickie Ervin has emailed us to say the HND Public Service students at Brooklands College are dressing up as Heroes e.g. Cat Woman, GI Jane, Action Man, Superman and more, around campus and in Weybridge collecting money and selling Poppies.

David Ransted has said Hello. Good luck with the Help For Heroes day. I am raising money for H4H by taking part in the Mad Maldon Mud Race across the River Blackwater in Essex on 27th December. Last year I raised more than £1,200 for H4H and am hoping to set a new record next year. This is my 7th Mad Maldon Mud Race. Jessica Cheesman has emailed - between 14 and 23 November I will be trekking 100km across the Sahara in aid of H4H. Carol Davies - on the 10th of november, I will do a coffee/tea day until 2pm to raise money fot the help for heros day. I will charge 50p for tea and coffee, I cant do food as well as im disabled but will be more than happy to make drinks for the 50p or higher donations. All our lads a nd lasses deserve every penny and more we can give them
On the 14th of November a team from Airfield Operations and the Met Police will attempt to pull two large aircraft in a race along on runway and taxiway for help for heroes you can donate money at justgiving.com
Mr Dave Brown has let us know that on Sunday 8th November , The Cock Tavern in Edmonton is holding a help for heroes day with live music from a 40's style swing big band, There’s also an exhibition of pool trick shots hosted by Johnny Sullivan and many other top class players , disco , Karaoke, and loads of fun.
The Beehive Public House, 365 Footscray Road, New Eltham, London, SE9 2DR will be showing their gratitude for past and present heroes by hosting a joint 'Help for Heroes' and 'Royal British Legion' Remembrance Day Fundraiser on Sunday, 8th November from Midday. 'Perfida' a 15 piece Big 'Swing' Band will be playing live all the hits from the 40's and 50's. Complimentary bar buffet.
Colin Curtin - Sunday 22 Nov 2009 The George PH Addlestone Surrey will be unveiling its 2010 calender showing many of the regulars, young/old, male/female as they are not normally seen in the bar. All proceeds from the sale of these will be going to H4H. Come along and meet the participants.
John Pittalis - Our son Kyri and four other Royal Marine cadets and a teacher from Harrow School ran 20 miles in full fatigues, kit bags and boots on Sunday 1st November in pouring rain. They raised over £3,500 for Help for Heroes http://www.justgiving.com/longduckermarch/
David and Lara Bradley - I am involved in a H4H event later on this month. A an RAF friend from Lyneham along with 2 mates vsited all 20 Premiership Football clubs in 24 hrs collecting various memorabilia that they could auction off. This will be done at a black tie dinner on Thu 19 Nov at Wiltshire Golf and Country Club, Wootton Basset. There will be a number of wounded servicemen there, inlcuding me, as well as an after dinner speech from the England U21 Manager Stuart Pearce. North Wales Events
A big charity rugby match has been organized by Peter Standish on November 7th to raise money for Help For Heroes. The event, at Pentra Mawr Park, Abergele, North Wales, starts at 12 noon.
North East Events
Sandra Begbie and the residents at Beckwith Mews Extra Care Scheme in Seaham Street, Silksworth are holding a Help for Heroes fundraising event on Saturday 14th November 10.30am - 2.30pm with raffles, games, tombolla, christmas crafts etc. Everyone welcome.

Lance Corporal Of Horse John Martin. is planning on doing a forced march from Whitby to Marske By The Sea, the distance covers about 22 miles he'llbe carrying 45 pound on his back. The route that myself and my mate will take is along the coastal road so past Sandsend, Boulby pot ash, Loftus, and then finally Saltburn bank, and onto Marske village.

Stuart Coppard will be completing the 'Big Battlefield Bike Ride' next May with his good friend Tim Mayland to raise money for H4H. BAE Systems Channel Way on Preston Docks are holding a Help for Heroes Month with various fundraising events including a one night event at the Willows Catholic Club Kirkham on 20th Nov, 2009.
Terri-Anne Smith, from Leigh, and her friends will all be dressing up as soldiers for the day. They will be getting sponsored, with all proceeds going to Help For Heroes!
Craig Weekes will be taking part in this months YDC (Your Donations Count) on uk.ebid.net where the money raised from this monthly auction will be going to Help For Heroes.
Jason Bennett will be doing two gigs with his band for Help For Heroes. On the 7th of November he'll play at the Olde Red Lion in Ellesmere Port with The St Elmo's and then he will play the Shippons in Irby on the 12th of December with his other band The Key.
In Birkenhead, Cheshire, 10-year-old Elliot Montieth is doing a sponsored walk up Snowdon. He has already raised £320!

Laura Cattigan is organising a Summer Ball to be held on Saturday 5th June 2010. Help For Heroes is a charity very close to her heart, as her younger brother is currently serving in the Royal Marines Commando’s and will be returning to Afghanistan next month. This charity supports British soldiers wounded in current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq, benefiting the Royal Navy, British Army Royal Air Force and Royal Marine Commandos. The Black Tie Summer Ball is going to be held at The Cannock Cricket & Hockey Club, starting from 6pm onwards. Laura intends to Auction items to raise funds for this charity, as well as hold a Raffle. So far we have had signed Football Shirts for Auction, Spa Days donated, and Family Tickets to attractions promised. Tickets available at £20.00 and go on sale next month. The Seven Stars in Bury have been raising funds for Help The Heroes. Up to now they have raised £3500 and would like to say thank you to all of their customers who have helped them. Helen Boulton is orgainsing a Family Fun Day in aid of Help for Heroes on Sunday 15 November at the Globe Inn, Wardle, Lancs. Her son returned from Afghanistan on Friday after a 7 month tour, he will be there to tell people what it is like to be on the front line. There will be a military tank, fire brigade, live music, bouncy castle, face painting, marine cadet display, raffle and more.
Jonathan Mushrow, a taxi driver in Liverpool will be donating all tips received to the Help For Heroes on Help For Heroes day.
Maureen Siddall’s daughter in law, a Liverpool girl, is currently walking to Everest Basecamp 1 to raise funds for Help For Heroes. Maureen’s son is in the army, stationed in Paderborn.
Dorothy Daggers, secretary of the Royal British Legion in Leyland, Lancashire said they have just donated £1800.00 for a charity night we held in honour of Help For Heroes. All the businesses in Leyland donated prizes free for a big raffle and the artists donated their fees for the fund.
Julie Prescott works for a TA unit and have had many soldiers mobilised to Afghanistan. We will be holding a big brew up throughout the day for Regular and TA members at various locations in the North West.
The Greater Manchester Master Bakers Association are holding thier annual dinner at the Cresta Court in altrincham on Sat 14th Nov, all monies raised will go to Help for Heroes.
East Midlands Events
Zaleekhah Bellydancers have arranged a Hafla (belly dance party) on Nov 13th in aid of Help for Heroes. The theme for the evening is the Rocky Hafla Show and as well as traditional bellydancers performing we have a variety of 'alternative' dancers performing to the Horror theme. The event is at Lumb farm, Marehay, Ripley and admission is £5 on the door. Doors are opening at 7.15pm and performances will be strating at 7.45pm. Denise Bennet and her colleagues are doing a Tea/Coffee day for Help for Hero's on Tuesday 10th November in the Corpoarte Services postroom based at County Hall, Nottingham with homemade cakes biscuits and other goodies and a nearly new book sale. Everyone welcome.
